Why people switch to a program they own
The problem
ItsDeductible is gone, and the replacements all want a yearly subscription.
With DonationLedger
DonationLedger is a program you own. Buy it once, install it, and it keeps working whether or not you ever pay again.
The problem
Receipts pile up in a drawer and the values are guesswork in April.
With DonationLedger
Log each drop-off in two minutes with a photo of the receipt. The value guide suggests a fair range for each item, and you pick the number.
The problem
Nobody wants family finances in one more online account.
With DonationLedger
Everything lives in one file on your computer. Back it up like any document. No servers, no data sharing, no password to forget.
Everything a year of giving needs, in one window
Noncash donation log
Items, quantity, condition, charity, date. One drop-off, one entry — as fast as writing it on paper.
Built-in value guide
Low-to-high fair-market ranges for hundreds of common items, following the published Goodwill and Salvation Army guides.
Cash gifts and mileage
Record checks, card gifts and miles driven for charity at the IRS rate, so Schedule A is complete, not just the noncash line.
Form 8283 worksheet
Groups similar items the way the IRS does, warns you as a group nears $5,000, and prints a Section A worksheet.
TurboTax and H&R Block export
TXF for TurboTax Desktop, CSV for H&R Block, any other software or your tax preparer.
ItsDeductible import
Bring in the CSV you exported before ItsDeductible closed, so your history stays in one place.

Questions people ask
Is DonationLedger a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase of $49. The program keeps working on your computer with no renewal. Value-guide updates are included for two tax seasons; after that you can keep using the program as is or buy an update at a discount.
Does it work with TurboTax and H&R Block?
Yes. DonationLedger exports a TXF file that TurboTax Desktop imports directly, and a CSV file you can use with H&R Block, TaxAct, or hand to a tax preparer. TurboTax Online does not import TXF, so for the online version you would type the totals from the summary.
Where is my data stored?
In one file on your own computer. There is no account and nothing is sent to us. Back the file up the way you back up any document, for example to a USB stick or your own cloud drive.
Can I import my old ItsDeductible records?
Yes, if you exported the CSV file from ItsDeductible before it closed in October 2025. Use File → Import → ItsDeductible CSV. If you did not export, the program helps you rebuild the year from receipts and bank statements.
Is the value guide official?
The IRS does not publish item prices. Our guide follows the ranges published by Goodwill and The Salvation Army, which the IRS accepts as reasonable for used goods in good condition. You always choose the final value, and the program records the method you used.
What is in the free Early Access Preview?
The preview installs the real program shell with the main screens so you can see how it works, and lets you join the waitlist. Some features are marked as coming in the full version. Preview users receive a launch discount.
Does it run on a Mac or a phone?
No. DonationLedger is a Windows 10 and 11 program. It is built for people who keep their records on a desktop or laptop and prefer a program to an app.
Is this tax advice?
No. DonationLedger keeps records and does the arithmetic. Whether a gift is deductible, and how much, depends on your situation. Check IRS.gov or ask a tax professional.
